When attempting to print small format negatives on LPL 4x5 enlargers using lenses shorter than 50mm, the standard lensboard may not provide sufficient depth to allow proper focusing. For short focal length lenses this extra deep lens mount will provide the additional depth required. It may also be used as an extended lensboard for use when printing reductions with longer focal length lenses. This lens mount is about 35mm tall which is approximately 16mm deeper/longer than the standard LPL lens mount.
