Heat absorbing glass eliminates much of the infrared radiation from the light produced by the enlarging lamp, thus helping to protect filters and negatives from heat damage, and reducing the chance of negative "popping" which affects focus.
The #473-113 heat absorbing glass assembly fits up in the lamp cap of Omega B-22, B-7, and B-8 condenser enlargers, just under the enlarger lamp. The tabs center the assembly in the lamp cap, and it is then held in place by the lamp cap securing screws. Installation instructions are included.
