The Omega Super Chromega E 5x7 Dichroic lamphouse is well known as a reliable workhorse. But to keep it working properly, it does require periodic maintenance, and there are a few parts which require replacement occasionally. One of those is the light seal gasket that prevents light leaks from between the lamphouse and negative carrier. With age and use, the gasket eventually becomes hard and stays compressed, so it no longer seals properly. If left long enough, it will start to crumble.
Some users simply try to ignore the light leaks, while others attempt to replace the original gasket with pieces of weather stripping - usually not very successfully. This is the proper replacement - one piece cut to exact size, with installation instructions included. |
