One of the parts on Omega D and E series enlargers that require replacement occasionally are the counterbalance springs. The clips may break off, the metal tape cracks, or the grease inside may gum up so they just don't work smoothly anymore. If the counterbalance springs aren't working properly, it becomes more difficult to raise and lower the carriage and the elevation gears begin to wear.
These used counterbalance springs have been remanufactured using our exclusive multi-step process to ensure they work as well as new ones. We recommend replacing both springs at the same time, so these replacements are sold in pairs. These springs fit Omega D-5, D5-XL, and later Super Chromega E Dichroic enlargers which have the counterbalance springs mounted on the rear of the carriage.
Note: These springs cannot be used on enlargers that have the springs mounted at the top of the column, i.e. D-2, D-3, D-4, D-6, E-5, E-6, and early Super Chromega E Dichroic enlargers.
