Focus Assembly for Omega C760 Enlargers - Remanufactured

Early Omega C760 enlargers were fitted with a focus assembly that employed semi-soft friction rollers made of a polyurethane material. The idea was that the resilient nature of the material would automatically compensate for any wear. However, it was found that the polyurethane deteriorated over time, first cracking, then crumbling, and eventually turning into a red goo, rendering the enlarger unusable. After the first two years of production, Omega replaced this design with one using spring-loaded solid rollers with tension adjusters, as shown in the picture below.

The standard repair for the early models was to replace the entire original focus assembly with the later design. Unfortunately, replacements have not been available from Omega for some time. However, KHB Photografix can supply a remanufactured focus assembly, similar to the late Omega design.

Note: The picture illustrates the focus assembly with the focus knobs installed. Knobs are not included with the supplied unit - you will need to remove the knobs from the focus shaft for reuse on the replacement. If your knobs are damaged or missing replacements are available.
